The London Marathon 2011
Although this may be months away, we can already announce with pride that Sophie de Winton (aged 48) is taking up ZAP's allotted running space to run her first Marathon for us next Spring. Sophie is already in training, and you can support her through ZAP's online donation page (please mention Sophie in the Personal Gift section) or on www.justgiving.com/sophie-de-winton.
The best news of all is that Reeve Flooring, her husband's company, has come up with a tremendous idea to sponsor ZAP and Sophie; they will donate 15p for every m2 of selected hardwood flooring which they sell between now and the Marathon. For details, please click on the link here.
We hope to persuade other local companies to do a similar sort of sponsorship so that Sophie's huge effort will reap its just rewards.
If anyone else has been lucky enough to get a place in the runners ballot, would you please consider running the 2011 Marathon for ZAP? Although Sophie has taken up our official running slot, there is nothing to stop you from nominating ZAP as your Charity of choice.
